KUALA LUMPUR: There is no changes in the master agreement for Selangor state water restructuring exercise says Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.
Ongkili said he is now waiting for a letter from the state government following the discussion with the ministry’s official on Monday regarding the water restructuring exercise.
It was reported that the meeting was held between Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi and the ministry secretary-general Datuk Loo Took Gee.
“I will respond to the letter and I will see what can be done from there. There is no revision in the master agreement,” he said at the Parliament lobby today.
He said Selangor state government was still contesting the land which is included as part of assets listed in the master agreement.
“Of course the state government have been operating it (the assets), even though we have already bought it from them. There is some assumption belongs to them when it does not,” he said.
It was reported that the federal government had denied claims by Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali that it had demanded the state government to surrender its land as part of the state's water restructuring exercise.
Ongkili said contrary to Azmin's claims, the land was included as part of the assets listed in the master agreement.
“The master agreement stated that the land above and under the pipelines is part of the assets."
“It is not true as what claimed by Selangor government that, we have amended the master agreement to demand for the land,” he said.
